| Stonecunning is the dwarves' racial gift, the underground twin of the elves' keen vision. In mountains, caves and rooms built of stone, a dwarf has a chance to notice hidden or trapped items and exits that others walk straight past. |
Duergar, for all that they are dwarves, have lost it.
A dwarf notices unusual stonework, sliding walls, stone traps and shaky ceilings, and can often tell roughly how deep underground they are. |
