| Behavior : StockMarket Targets : Areas Parameters : (JOURNAL="[NAME]) (CONFIGS="[CONFIG FILE PATH], ..") Parameters : (MARKETTYPE=STOCK/ REGIONAL/ BOND/ COMMODITY/ RACIAL/ PLAYER) Parameters : (UPDATEDAYS=[NUM]) (WAITDAYAB=[NUM]) (MAXSTOCKS=[NUM]) Parameters : (NAME="[NAME WITH VARS]") (ALLOWCLANS=TRUE/FALSE) Parameters : (AREAGROUP=TRUE/FALSE) (PLAYINFLU=TRUE/FALSE) (MAXSHARES=[NUM]) Parameters : (SHOPMASK="[ZAPPERMASK]") (AREAEVENTS="(+/-)[QUESTNAME],...") Parameters : (AREAMASK="[ZAPPERMASK]") (GROUPBY=NOTHING/ALL/SHOPTYPE/RACE) Example : JOURNAL="Stock Report" MARKETTYPE=STOCK Example : CONFIGS="/resources/config1.txt,/resources/config2.txt" This behavior is placed on an area containing one ore more STOCKBROKER shopkeepers as well as one or more other shopkeepers who will make up the actual stocks that can be bought and sold at the stockbrokers. Players who purchase the stocks will receive certificates that they can then later sell back. Stocks all start at the same price, but will change over time due to various influences from player activity, weather, and other goings on. An area with a StockMarket behavior may have one, or more configurations. You might have different kinds of stocks for the same shopkeepers, or apply area filters to capture different groups of child areas of the parent area with the behavior, all using separate configurations in the same behavior. To specify multiple configurations, use the CONFIGS="" argument and give a comma delimited list of paths to the several config files. You might also use configuration files just because there are so many arguments to the behavior that it's just easier. In a configuration file, each option is placed on its own line, just like an INI or PROPERTIES file. Each configuration, whether put in a config file or directly in the behavior argument, consists of the following options: UPDATEDAYS=The number of the host area MUD days between price updates on this configuration's stocks. This is when influences add up to a change in the stock prices, and dividends are paid. WAITDAYAB=The number of host area MUD days after a stock goes bankrupt that it will re-appear and be placed back up for sale with the stockbroker. MAXSTOCKS=If your area includes multiple shopkeepers that might be selected for stocks, this number will limit the number of individual stocks that will be generated by this configuration. NAME=The naming pattern that will be used when generating the unique name of each stock in this config. The name may contains variables: @x1 for the room/shop type/identifier, and @x2 for the area name. ALLOWCLANS=TRUE to allow clans to list their own sticks in this area configuration, or FALSE otherwise. AREAGROUP=TRUE to allow areas with many children to group them together, or FALSE otherwise. PLAYINFLU=TRUE to allow certain player influences, such as leveling, achievements, crafting, or gathering to have an effect on stock prices. MAXSHARES=The maximum number of shares of each stock that will ever be sold, which will also impact the influence that a player with near max shares in a stock can have over its shopkeeper. SHOPMASK=The zappermask that selects which shopkeepers can generate a stock. Leaving this empty will select all shopkeepers. See AHELP ZAPPERMASK. AREAEVENTS=A comma delimited list of Quest Names, optionally beginning with + or -, which, when the quest starts, can influence applicable stocks positively (+), negatively (-), or variably if no + or - prefix is given. AREAMASK=The zappermask that selects which areas can generate stocks, assuming an area has multiple children that need masking. Leaving this empty selects all applicable areas. See AHELP ZAPPERMASK. GROUPBY=This determines how shopkeepers are grouped together to form group-based stocks. A value of NOTHING means that each shopkeeper is his own stock, ALL means all shopkeepers form one stock, SHOPTYPE means all shopkeepers with the same Shop Type pattern make up a single stock, and RACE means all shopkeepers of the same race make up a single stock. MARKETTYPE=This is an optional field that is a shortcut for the previously mentioned config values. These include: MARKETTYPE=STOCK (GROUPBY=SHOPTYPE AREAGROUP=FALSE NAME="Stock in @x1 of @x2" PLAYINFLU=FALSE ) MARKETTYPE=REGIONAL (GROUPBY=ALL AREAGROUP=FALSE NAME="Regional Stock in @x1 of @x2" PLAYINFLU=TRUE ) MARKETTYPE=BOND (AREAMASK="-EFFECTS +Arrest +EFFECTS -Conquerable" AREAGROUP=FALSE GROUPBY=ALL NAME="@x1 of @x2 Bond" PLAYINFLU=TRUE ) MARKETTYPE=COMMODITY (GROUPBY=SHOPTYPE AREAGROUP=TRUE NAME="Commodity: @x1 of @x2" PLAYINFLU=FALSE ) MARKETTYPE=RACIAL (GROUPBY=RACE AREAGROUP=TRUE NAME="@x1 of @x2 Racial Stock" PLAYINFLU=FALSE ) MARKETTYPE=PLAYER (ALLOWCLANS=TRUE SHOPMASK="-NPC" GROUPBY=NOTHING NAME="Clan Stock: @x1 of @x2" PLAYINFLU=FALSE ) The behavior arguments can also include a JOURNAL entry to specify the name of a Journal that will automatically have updates regarding the stocks posted to it every period. | |
